Mr. Skin Celebrates 18 Years Tracking Hollywood Nude Scenes
CHICAGO — , an iconic mainstream movie site that tracks down every topless or nude scene, is celebrating its 18th anniversary today.
“We launched on Aug. 10, 1999 — we’re joking that we’re finally legal,” Jim McBride, founder of the Mr. Skin enterprise, tweeted.
With the milestone, the company has erected a billboard at the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue in Hollywood touting the fact that there are a total of 43,412 female nude scenes in mainstream movies including Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson and many others.
“Thanks for the mammaries!” the billboard says.
Launched when the internet was just beginning, MrSkin.com now boasts 9 million unique visitors each month. McBride added a similar site, , for the gay market in 2014 as part of his company’s portfolio.
His Chicago-based company, SK Intertainment Inc., also operates and , along with a growing network of men’s entertainment websites.
McBride has been featured in HBO’s “Entourage” and Judd Apatow's “Knocked Up,” along with “Saturday Night Live,” Bravo TV’s “Below Deck” and “The Howard Stern Show.”
